St Peter is one of the three parishes of Montserrat, comprising the northern third of the island.

The parish contains the great majority of the population, since the southern half of Montserrat was evacuated in response to the repeated eruptions of the Soufrière Hills since 1995. Montserrat's capital, Plymouth was destroyed by lava and pyroclastic flows, and all government functions have been moved to Brades in St Peter. It is intended to build a new capital here in St Peter Parish, at Little Bay.

St Peter is now the only one of the three parishes in the island to have escaped evacuation as a result of the repeated eruptions of the Soufrière Hills since 1995. The southern half of Montserrat now falls within the Exclusion Zone established by the Governor, but the Parish of St Peter has largely escaped and only a small part of the parish is within the Zone.
