Stainton le Vale is a village in in Lindsey, the northern part of Lincolnshire, sitting amongst in the Lincolnshire Wolds, about six miles north-east of the town of Market Rasen and about six miles south-east of Caistor.
In the Domesday Book of 1086 the village is named "Staintone", with 39 households, land and a mill.[1]
The parish church, St Andrew, dates from 1300. It was restored in 1886, and again in 1914 after falling into ruin in the 17th century, and is a Grade II listed building.[2]
