Hillfoots Villages

Alva and the scarp of the Ochils Hills

The Hillfoots Villages are the villages and small towns which lie at the base of the southern scarp face of the Ochil Hills, formed by the Ochil Fault, running in a line from Blairlogie to Muckart in Perthshire.

From west to east the main villages so designated are:

• Blairlogie, Perthshire
• Menstrie, Clackmannanshire
• Alva, Stirlingshire (detached in Clackmannanshire)
• Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire
• Dollar, Clackmannanshire
• Pool of Muckhart, Perthshire
