Stockghyll Force
River: Stock Ghyll
Fall: 60 feet
NY38460457
Co-ordinates: 54°25’58"N, 2°57’1"W

Stock Ghyll Force is a high, beautiful, plunging waterfall just outside Ambleside in Westmorland. It is on the Stock Ghyll, a tributary of the River Rothay which was once a river harnessed for industry: the town has several old mills on its banks, but here above the town the river is wild and free still.

Here the river falls 60 feet in a series of long, white tresses.

There is a popular walk up from Ambleside to the fall.[1]
