Market Deeping

Market Deeping is a market town in Kesteven, Lincolnshire, on the north bank of the River Welland, which here forms the border with Northamptonshire.

This the second largest of The Deepings, a group of villages hereabouts, many bearing the "Deeping" name (one of which, Deeping St James., sits across the river in Northamptonshire). Market Deeping is known for its stone buildings dating back to the 17th century, its largely 15th century church and the remains of a market cross. (Read more)
