Fionn Loch and Suilven to the left

Fionn Loch is a freshwater loch on the border of Sutherland and Cromartyshire, set in spectacular scenery in the shadow of Suilven. It is a large loch, two miles and a quarter in length by about a quarter broad. Its name is from the Gaelic, meaning "Fair or Clear Loch". It is an excellent spot for trout fishing.

The loch is situated north-west of Loch Veyatie and continues the role of county border from it, up to the point at which the River Kirkaig leaves, which forms the border from then on until it reaches the sea at Loch Kirkaig.
