Brignall is a village in the Pennines, within the North Riding of Yorkshire, on the south side of Teesdale close to Barnard Castle (which stands across the river in County Durham).
The population at the 2011 Census was less than 100.
Brignall sits adjacent to the River Greta, a site of special scientific interest. The River Greta and the Brignall area were painted by John Sell Cotman[1] and J. M. W. Turner[2][3][4] amongst others.
Bird watching, walking and other outdoor activities can be pursued in the area.
