Old Carlisle is a hamlet in Cumberland, a mile south of Wigton along a lane running north off the A595 Carlisle to Maryport road.

The A595 here follows the course of a Roman road, and the earthworks of a Roman fort remain in the fields of Old Carlisle.

The name of the place is from Old Carlisle Farm, now adopted for the whole hamlet.
