Headshaw Hill is a rounded hill of 1,348 feet above sea level at the south-eastern end of Lammermuir, and at the top of Lauderdale. It is in the west of Berwickshire, close to the East Lothian border.
The A68 road to Edinburgh passes by the hill to the west, reaching its own summit at the county border a short way north of the hill.
The Headshaw Burn runs along the west side of Headshaw Hill, and on the slopes of its little valley runs the course of Dere Street, a Roman road, with the remains of a Roman camp at Kirktonhill and other fortlets close by it, looking up at the hill.
