Rudry is a small village and ancient parish in Glamorgan, adjacent to the border with Monmouthshire. It is located to the east of Caerphilly in the very-south-east of the county. It is bounded by Upper Machen in Monmouthshire to the north; by the Glamorgan part of Machen (Rhyd-y-Gwern) to the east; by the Glamorgan part of Michaelstone-y-Fedw (Llanfedw) to the south-east; by Lisvane and Llanishen to the south; and by the Glamorgan part of Bedwas (Van) to the west. There is a very short border with Eglwysilan to the south-west.
The village is a rural location, surrounded by woods with walks along the Rhymney Valley Ridgeway Walk. Its main attraction being the Maenllwyd Inn. It is thought that Oliver Cromwell took shelter in the village church.
