Batchworth Heath
Batchworth Heath is a nature reserve of 10 acres in the south-west corner of Hertfordshire, on top of a hill above Rickmansworth and on the border with Middlesex to the south. It also gives a name to the hamlet clustered around the heath.
The heath itself is open land around the junction of Batchworth Heath Hill, Batchworth Lane and White Hill, and the land is owned and managed by the council. The habitat is heathland with an ancient pond and rich wildlife.[1][2] The site is designated common land.[3]
The hamlet has two pubs, both on the main road, Ye Olde Greene Man and the Prince of Wales, which runs up to the county boundary.
