Wisley Common
Wisley Common is a wooded common in the midst of Surrey, beside a hamlet which may be named for the common rather than the other way round: Wisley.
The common stretches today from the A3 Portsmouth Road westwards to the village and to the banks of the River Wey. It laps against the RHS's Wisley Garden. East of the A3 is Ockham Common.
The two neighbouring commons have together been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest by the name 'Ockham and Wisley Commons'.[1]
