Cleveleys is a village on the "Golden Mile" coast; on the coast of Lancashire, and contiguous with the urban area of Blackpool to the south, with Fleetwood to the north. It has a long sandy beach on the Irish Sea, popular with visitors to the seaside.

Cleveleys adjoins Thornton, which sits to the east, on the estuary of the River Wyre, and the two are frequently considered one town, Thornton-Cleveleys.

Sport

Thornton-Cleveleys is home to Thornton-Cleveleys RUFC who play rugby in the RFU Northern Division, North Lancs 1. Their home ground is the YMCA sport centre in Thornton.

Thornton-Cleveleys FC and Norcross & Warbreck FC play football in the West Lancashire Football League. Both teams' home pitches are in Thornton.

Fylde Flyers Ice Hockey Team are based in the SubZero Leisure Ice Rink (opened in 2011), Jubilee Park, Thornton-Cleveleys, and play in the EIHA North Division 2.
