Llyn Gwynant
Llyn Gwynant is a lake on the course of the River Glaslyn in Caernarfonshire. It lies within Snowdonia, overlooked by Snowdon itself, which rises sharply from the north shore, looming in the north and northwest, and by surrounding mountains.
Llyn Gwynant lies on the River Glaslyn, in the Nant Gwynant valley. It is a natural lake, scoured out by glacial action and is 124 acres in size.
The A498 runs down the valley here and along the lake’s south shore. A mile or so downstream (southwest) is Llyn Dinas, and the village of Bethania lies between these two lakes.
Llyn Gwynant is a popular place for canoeing and kayaking.
Miscellany
