Am Faochagach is a mountain in north-western Ross-shire, east of the main Beinn Dearg group of Munros, standing aprt. It reaches a height of 3,127 feet at its summit, and so it qualifies as a Munro.

Geography

Am Faochagach is a rounded peak with an indistinctive summit. There are two main ridges running north and south, both broad and easily traversed: the northern ridge leads to subsidiary peak named Meallan Bàn, while the southern ridge leads to the other subsidiary peak, Meall Gorm. There are some minor crags to the immediate east of the main summit.

The best views are reckoned to be those looking out to the west over to the Beinn Dearg Munros, though there is no povert of spectacle in any direction, this being an area of grandeur amongst a wild, remote Highland landscape.

To climb Am Faochagach requires the crossing of an unbridged river, the Abainn a' Gharbhrain, a wet-feet crossing and impassable after heavy rain. The rip will usually begin from the south, near the Aultguish Inn at the head of Loch Glascarnoch.
