North Tawton and Winkleigh Hundred in Devon

North Tawton and Winkleigh is one of the hundreds of Devon, located in the centre of the county. It is bounded to the north by South Molton Hundred; to the north-east by Witheridge Hundred; to the south-east by Crediton Hundred; to the south by Wonford Hundred; to the south-west by Black Torrington Hundred; to the west by Shebbear Hundred; and to the north-west by Fremington Hundred and a detached part of Hartland Hundred. The ancient parish of Winkleigh is sometimes considered a hundred in its own right, distinct from that of North Tawton. Taken as a single hundred, it had a population of 11,965 in 2011.
