West Wivelshire is one of the ten hundreds of Cornwall, in the south-east of the county, with East Wivelshire to the east and Powdershire to its west. The hundred is the western part of the wider district known as Wivelshire. It includes Liskeard and the valley and basin of the River Looe; the town of Looe sits in the middle of its coastline. It is identified on Ordnance Survey maps and census reports as simply the West Hundred. It had a population of 31,049 in 2011.
