The River Machno is a mountain river in Caernarfonshire. It rises at the very edge of the county, just below the watershed between north and west which marks the boundary with Merionethshire, and flows down through a picturesque valley to join the River Conwy at the Penmachno Falls, or Conwy Falls, at the head of the "Fairy Glen" above Betws-y-coed.
The Machno is the first major tributary of the River Conwy, and the junction of the two some two miles south of Betws-y-coed creates the impressive waterfalls here, much admired by visitors.
IThe river's source is in the slopes at the head of the Penmachno valley, and it flows through the villages of Cwm Penmachno at the head of the dale and then to Penmachno.
