Llanddeiniolen is a tiny village and parish in Caernarfonshire, on the B4366 road east of Caernarfon, a mile and a half inland from Port Dinorwic on the Menai Strait. Beside it lie two delightfully Biblically named villages; Seion and Bethel. Its own name derives from that of the son of saint Deiniol (died 584). He founded the church of Llanddeiniolen in AD 616.
The parish also includes the villages of Rhiwlas, Dinorwig and Deiniolen.[2] In 2011 the population of Llanddeiniolen was recorded as 5,072.
The wrestler and harpist Marged ferch Ifan was buried here in 1783.[3]
Castell Llanddeiniolen motte and bailey lies nearby.
