Kaber is a village in Westmorland, about two miles south of Brough, on the south side of the River Belah, a mile north-east of Winton.

The northern boundary of the parish is formed by the River Belah which rises near Kaber Fell to the south-east and flows just north of the village on its course towards the River Eden.

The name 'Kaber' is first attested in the Register of the Priory of Wetherhal, circa 1195, where it appears as Kaberge. The name means 'jackdaw hill'.[1]
