It is generally equivalent to the area now known as [[Grantown-on-Spey]].
The original parish church was situated on the banks of the [[River Spey]] to the south of [[Grantown-on-Spey]]. The present building was opened in Grantown in 1886 and was built using materials recycled from the previous one.

Inverallan is one of the ancient parishes along with Cromdale and Advie which form the ecclesiastical (later civil) parish of Cromdale, Inverallan and Advie in Inverness-shire and Morayshire.

The original parish church was situated on the banks of the River Spey to the south of Grantown-on-Spey. The present building was opened in Grantown in 1886 and was built using materials recycled from the previous one.
