Higher End or Billinge Higher End is a village of Lancashire, just south of Orrell, which has expanded south to join Higher End. The village is four miles west of Wigan town centre.

The village has its origin as a hamlet at the northern end of the Parish of Billinge, a parish divided into two townships: ‘Billinge Chapel End’ (now Billinge) and Billinge Higher End
