Whitlaw is a hamlet in the Lammermuir Hills of Berwickshire, two and a half miles east of Lauder. A single, narrow, dead-end road runs up out of Lauderdale to Whitlaw, alone on the hill. Lauder Common lies to the south of the hamlet.
