Natural history
Part of Bracklesham Bay runs along the coastline in the parish. The waters and mudflats of the bay are designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.[2]
Chichester Harbour (also designated Site of Special Scientific Interest) laps against the parish shoreline. This is a wetland of international importance, a Special Protection Area for wild birds and a Special Area of Conservation. The harbour is of particular importance for wintering wildfowl and waders of which five species reach numbers which are internationally important.[3]
