Welcome!

You have already added your own welcome page, but welcome anyway. There are many things of wonder to be written about, and there is no reason for the restraint of dullness they have on certain similarly named sites (that may be appropriate to the grey, strip-mall towns of America, but if a village is pretty why not say so? It would be misinforming the reader if we don't.)

I do not know Leicestershire very well - I have had jobs and meetings in and about Leicester, have driven through endless times, puzzling over Ab Kettleby, feeling my mouth water in Melton Mowbray etc, but the county as a whole is not well covered - yet. We have 131 towns and villages listed, a few castles, country houses and famed buildings: I feel there must be more there, and if you can help, you are very welcome, and guidance is always to hand. --RB (talk) 11:09, 19 November 2022 (UTC)

Et in Antarctica ego

Indeed the Sweeney Mountains are in Antarctica, but in the British Antarctic Territory and so worthy of a listing.

After months of intense work over evenings and lunchtimes recording familiar lands, I relax by noting down the furthermost territories of the realm, which is a vast territory: I got a database from the BAS which makes it easy. I have recently worn myself out on villages and houses of Hampshire, and other rabbit-holes that sent me down. Before I turn to the next county on my list, I am filling in some more blank spaces on the map of the British territories. Soon enough though I will turn to places closer to home. Probably Tyrone next, then Sussex, with an option on Bermuda. RB (talk) 22:22, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
