Information |
The Union Bridge crosses the River Lagan in Lisburn, between the town centre on the western bank in County Antrim and the suburbs in County Down on the east bank.
The bridge was built in 1880 replacing an earlier bridge. There was an even older bridge just to the north. At the time, the Lagan was a heavily navigated river and below the bridge was Lisburn Harbour, with nine quays operating in its heyday.
