Information |
The Templetown Mausoleum is the family mausoleum of the Upton family of Castle Upton in Templepatrick, County Antrim.
The mausoleum is a grand monument of the Georgian Age, and one of the finest examples of Robert Adam's neoclassical architecture in Ireland. Indeed, it is one of the few works that Adam executed on the island.
The mausoleum was built in 1789 for the Rt Hon Arthur Upton and stands in the grounds of Castle Upton. While the castle remains in private ownership, the Templetown Mausoleum is now in the care of the National Trust.
