St Paul's Cathedral

St Paul's Cathedral stands on Ludgate Hill in the heart of the City of London in Middlesex and is perhaps the most celebrated building in the remarkable square-mile city. St Paul's is the cathedral church of the Diocese of London and so the seat of the Bishop of London.

The cathedral is one of the most famous and most recognisable sights of London. Its dome, framed by the spires of Wren's City churches, dominated the skyline for three hundred years. At 365 feet high, it was the tallest building in London from 1710 to 1967. The dome is among the highest in the world. By area, St Paul's is the largest church in Britain apart from Liverpool Cathedral. (Read more)
