Plas Newydd, Anglesey

Plas Newydd Plas Newydd is the country seat of the Marquess of Anglesey. It stands on the south shore of Anglesey, overlooking the Menai Strait near Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. The former principal seat of the Marquesses of Anglesey was at Beaudesert in Staffordshire, until it was sold and demolished in the 1930s. Today though Plas Newydd is in the care of the National Trust. The house stands on the bank of the Menai Strait and has splendid views of Snowdonia across the water. (Read more)
