Pistyll RhaeadrPistyll Rhaeadr is a waterfall plunging the River Disgynfa in three stages over a 240-foot drop a few miles from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in Montgomeryshire, twelve miles west of Oswestry. The tallest fall is estimated at about 130 feet. Pistyll Rhaeadr is counted as one of the Seven Wonders of Wales. George Borrow compared the fall "to an immense skein of silk agitated and disturbed by tempestuous blasts, or to the long tail of a grey courser at furious speed". (Read more) |
