Menstrie Castle beneath the Ochil Hills in Clackmannanshire

Menstrie Menstrie is a village in Clackmannanshire, found about five miles east of Stirling. The village stands at the foot of the escarpment of the Ochil Hills, and is one of the long string of such villages collectively known as the Hillfoots Villages. The village stands on the carse of the River Devon, roughly astride the Ochil Fault whose movement gave rise to the dramatic southern scarp of the Ochils but which is now quiescent. (Read more)
