Great Hampden

Great Hampden is a village in the heart of the Chilterns, in Buckinghamshire. It may be found about three miles southeast of Princes Risborough.

This is the ancestral home of the Hobart-Hampden family, of whom came John Hampden, famous for resisting King Charles's attempt to impose ship money, precipitating the Civil War. (Read more)
