Gatwick Airport

Gatwick Airport or London Gatwick Airport is a major international airport, found in southern Surrey, immediately south of Horley, and 3 miles north of the centre of Crawley in Sussex, and 28 miles south of central London. Gatwick is London's second largest international airport second busiest by total passenger traffic in the United Kingdom, each after Heathrow Airport in Middlesex.

Gatwick has two runways, 8,415 feet and 10,879 long respectively, and is a preseferred airport for charter airlines.

The airport is named after the village of Gatwick long since razed out of existence by the airport. The name is from the Old English words gat wic, meaning "goat farm. (Read more)
