DolgellauDolgellau is a market town in Merionethshire, standing on the banks of the River Wnion, a tributary of the River Mawddach. The town was the centre of a minor gold rush in the 19th century: at one time the local gold mines employed over 500 workers, and the mines in these hills still supply the gold used in royal wedding rings.
