Burnham ThorpeBurnham Thorpe is a small village in Norfolk, on the River Burn and standing near the sea coast. This village is famous for being the birthplace of Britain's great naval hero: Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, victor of many sea battles and finally, and fatally, his greatest triumph at the Battle of Trafalgar. At the time of his birth, Nelson's father, Edmund Nelson, was rector of the church in Burnham Thorpe. (Read more) |
