ArklowArklow is a town in County Wicklow on the east coast of Ireland. Founded by the Vikings in the ninth century, its name is from the Old Norse for 'meadow of Arnkell'. The town's proximity to Dublin has made it a thriving commuter town, and the third-largest town in the county. Arklow stands at the mouth of the River Avoca, divided by the river, but linked across it by the Nineteen Arches Bridge, which is the longest handmade stone bridge in Ireland (Read more) |
