Teesville is an suburban village within the Teesside conurbation in the North Riding of Yorkshire, to the east of Middlesbrough. It is reckoned to be part of a 'Greater Eston' area which includes such places as Eston, Normanby, South Bank, Teesville and part of Ormesby.
The town hall in Teesville was used by the Eston Urban District council from 1961 to 1968, then the Borough of Langbaurgh and later Redcar and Cleveland Council. It was built in a modern style in the 1960s; a departure from the usual neo-Gothic style of neighbouring towns, and failed to outlast them: it was demolished in 2012; civic facilities were relocated nearby. The political meetings took place at Inspire 2 Learn, formerly Eston's City Learning Centre, also in Teesville, on Normanby Road.[1]
Churches
- Church of England: St George's Church, built in the 1960s in a triangular design with a long sloping roof almost to the ground on one side
- Roman Catholic: St Andrew, also of the 1960s.
