Sydenham Damerel, previously known as 'South Sydenham', is a village in western Devon, found four miles north-west of Tavistock. The village stands just a mile east of the River Tamar, which forms the border of Devon with Cornwall: the hamlet of Horsebridge and its ancient bridge over the Tamar are in the parish of Sydenham Damerel.
The parish church is dedicated to St Mary.[1]
