The Swan Inn, Swineford

Swineford is a hamlet in southern Gloucestershire, spilling over the border with Somerset. It is located around a mile south-east of Bitton, on the River Avon. The hamlet is perhaps best known for the Swineford Lock, a lock on the canalised section of the River Avon. The lock and associated weir are sited on the Somerset side of Swineford. The A431 Bath Road road runs through the village, providing connections to both Bristol to the north-west and Bath to the south-east.
