Stronachlacher is a small village in Stirlingshire, on the south shore of Loch Katrine, which makes it is hub for visitors to the shimmering loch. The border of Perthshire runs immediately to the south, and along the whole north shore of the loch.
Just half a mile south-west of the village too is the head of Loch Arklet, which runs westward almost to Loch Lomond.
A passenger ferry runs from Stronachlacher in the summer, sailing the length of Loch Katrine out to the foot of the loch and the Trossachs.
The Great Trossachs Path, a long-distance walking route from Loch Lomonsd to the Trossachs runs through the village , following the loch shore north-westwards to its head, then around and along the north shore of Loch Katrine.
