Stockland Castle

Stockland Castle is the name given to two Iron Age hill forts on Stockland Hill close to Stockland in eastern Devonshire.

  • Stockland Great Castle (50°49’4"N, 3°5’60"W) occupies a position on the eastern slope of the hill at 620 to 690 feet above sea level.
  • Stockland Little Castle (50°49’37"N, 3°5’41"W), located about half a mile north-east of its larger neighbour, occupies a small promontory on the eastern slope of the hill at approximately 575 feet above sea level.
