Stob nan Eighrach is a mountain of 2,011 feet standing on the long border of Dunbartonshire with Stirlingshire, in the northernmost, mountainous fingers of both counties. It is brely a thousand yards south of the summit of Beinn Ducteach (which marks the meeting of both counties with Perthshire). The raggedy summit of Maol an Fhithich (2,133 feet) is yet closer, to the south-east.

The mountain's western slopes tumble down sharply to the shore of Loch Lomond.
