Information

The Church of St Peter is the parish church of Haveringland, a tiny village in Norfolk. It is one of the county's 124 remaining round-tower churches. The church is known locally as "the church in the fields", as it stands isolated on land that was once the parkland of Haveringland Hall, and during the War became an airfield.

The church is a Grade II* listed building.[1][2]

The most striking feature is its round tower, dating from the 11th century. The reminder was mainly re-built in 1858. It is built of flint and knapped flint with stone dressings with Westmorland slate roof. It has the tower, a chancel of two bays, a four-bay nave in Decorated and Perpendicular Gothic styles, north and south aisles, and north and south transepts. Broken Roman roof tiles are built into tower.

St Peter's holds intermittent church services throughout the year.[3]
