Information |
Squire's Mount is a grand Georgian house and estate in Hampstead, Middlesex, built as a mansion on Hampstead Heath, which was then a countryside location favoured (as indeed it is today) by the wealthy, who built magnificent villas here away from London but conveniently close to it.
Squire's Mount gives a name to a small, Georgian estate. Together with neighbouring Chestnut Lodge it is a Grade II* listed building.[1] This was once a terrace of four houses, now consolidated into two residences, each built around 1714, though with later alterations The house was home of Edwin Field, a law reformer, during late 19th century; at one time provided a home for Mrs Holts School for Young Ladies.
