Spittal is a small seaside resort in northern Northumberland, near Berwick-upon-Tweed. Its beach, known as Spittal Beach, is considered one of the best beaches in Northumberland.[1]
Spittal lies on the south side of the River Tweed opposite Berwick, on the corner where the estuary of the Tweed opens into the North Sea.
The parish church is St John the Evangelist.
