Slievenahanaghan is a mountain of 1,371 feet amongst the Antrim Hills of County Antrim. It is easily recognised from afar by the large number of wind turbines built around its twin tops.
The hill's delightful name is Gaelic, but of uncertain origin: Nahanaghan has been translated as "Water monster" but also as "Otter" (a distinction it cannot be hard to make). Slievenahanaghan though has neither monsters nor otters, nor indeed any bodies of water and so the name may be completely unrelated.
Skerry Hill is to the south-east and Slieveanorra and its forest to the north.
