Seacow Island, otherwise called Île Vache Marine, is a small coral island in the south of Peros Banhos, a coral ring atoll in the British Indian Ocean Territory.
From 2014, the Chagos Conservation Trust carried out a rat eradication programme, to remove invasive black rats from Seacow Island. Île Vache Marine was declared rat-free in 2017 after two years passed with no sign of rats.[1][2]
