Salem is a tiny village in Carmarthenshire, in hills to the north-west of the valley of the River Towy. It is found two and a half miles north of Llandeilo, in the Perfedd hundred. It is alternatively known as Heol Galed, the name Salem coming from that of the local independent chapel.
