The River Yeo beneath a disused railway bridge at Veraby

The River Yeo at Molland is a little river in the north of Devon, which becomes a tributary of another small river, the River Mole. It rises in the Exmoor hills, close to the border of Somerset and flows west, deeper into Devon, though the Parish of Molland, and on to join the River Mole just south of South Molton.

The river valley was once followed almost from its source by a railway, which went on to South Moulton. The railway has long since been dismantled, but the bridge where it crossed the Yeo at Veraby is still in place.

This is one of a number of rivers named 'Yeo' in Devon and Somerset; the name is the Old English ea, which simply means "river".
