Rerrick

Rerrick is a parish on the Solway Firth coast in southern Kirkcudbrightshire. It is located 6½ miles south-east of Kirkcudbright by the A711 road and contains the villages of Auchincairn and Dundrennan. This place, in various records called Dundrennan and Monkland, is conjectured to have received its present name, which is of uncertain origin, from the position of Auchincairn at the head of a creek in the Solway Firth. The parish is bounded on the south and south-east by the Firth, to the west by Kirkcudbright, to the north by Kelton and to the east by Buittle.
